On the average day, I get about 20 registrations, zero of those legit. All email addresses are garbled characters and the domains usually point to places to buy enhancing pills, fake watches, narcotics and the dream job of laundering money for a Nigerian Prince.
I have an htaccess file that spans several hundred lines, in an attempt to block the domains that these signups come from. Outside of completely blocking Europe and China from accessing the forum, I've been trying to whittle it down to ISPs that host the offenders. 100% of the requests that come from Russia, Ukraine, Romania and neighboring countries are spammers. This happens on every web forum out there.

The site I handle membership for has been getting hammered with Eastern European spam registrations lately, hour after hour, day after day. Spam registrations ebb and flow, but lately it has been much worse than usual.
