Very tough question, my answer to this changes over time. Right now I guess my favorite artist is Roky Erickson, his solo stuff. Saw him live once and was supposed to see him live a couple of weeks ago in Philly but I couldn't make it.
Jack - I heard that these days Burke Shelley doesn't play with Budgie when they play in the states?

Jack - I heard that these days Burke Shelley doesn't play with Budgie when they play in the states? Love Roky and the 13th Floor Elevators. Do you have all his solo stuff ? Last time that Budgie was in the states,Burke Shelly was still the singer and the only original member left in Budgie. His voice wasn't the same,but it's still so distinctive. Would be very hard to replace him. Haven't heard of any current US tours. |

Yeah I have most of the solo Roky albums, I want to get his EP on the sponge label from the late 1970's and also the single for The Interpreter at some point.
Budgie is incredible, it would be great to see them live if they ever come to town.
